Latest News from the Pennypit

Preston Athletic awarded SFA Club Licence

Preston Athletic became the second East of Scotland team to receive a club licence from the SFA.

 "It has been a great team effort involving the club, the Pennypit Trust and East Lothian Council. The support we have received in our bid for a licence has been tremendous and we are particularly grateful to the Trust and Council for their input".

Spartans were the first team to receive a licence - both teams are currently licensed at "entry level".

SITUATION VACANT 

We are continually seeking new committee members, helpers, and sponsors. We are looking for volunteers to come on board now to help plan for next season. Please contact the club or come along to the Supporters Club on a Tuesday evening at 7:00 for further details.

 Around the East of Scotland League Season 2012/13

The first trophy of the season was won on 9th December 2012 when Leith Athletic beat Craigroyston 1-0 in the final of the Alex Jack Cup at Ainslie Park. Congratulations to Leith Athletic, winners of the Alex Jack Cup.

Two EoS League sides made it to the third round of the Scottish Cup with Vale of Leithen and Edinburgh City bowing out to Cowdenbeath and Queen of the South respectively.

Gretna 2008 are the winners of the Image Printers Cup after defeating Stirling University in the final. Congratulations to Gretna 2008.

In the SFA South Challenge Cup Whitehill Welfare beat Dableattie Star of the South of Scotland League 3-1 in the final at Annan on 21st April.

The King Cup final will be between Spartans and Berwick Rangers Reserves on Saturday 1st June.

The League Cup final will be between Spartans and Edinburgh City on Saturday 25th May.

Whitehill Welfare are League Champions with Craigroyston winning the First Division. Coldstream have also been promoted to the Premier Division for season 2013/2014.


Social Events

Player of the Year Function will take place on 18th May,in Prestonpans Legion Lounge, 7.30pm.
